Details: The “hippest trip in America” is returning to the small screen with a 10-episode scripted new drama series American Soul for BET, inspired by the life and times of Soul Train creator and host, Don Cornelius. Set in the 1970s, the show captures the behind the scenes of the iconic music-dance show that aired from 1970 to 2006 and chronicles the cast, crew and Cornelius’s rise in Hollywood.
